MV LLC Subsidiary of Strategic Environmental & Energy Resources Announces $680,000 Order for OdorFilters from Fortune 500 Customer Release Date: August 17, 2010 The customer will use the OdorFilters at its refinery to remove H2S, mercaptans, thiols, and carbon disulfide from hot oil storage tanks associated with the refinery’s coker unit. “This is further validation of the OdorFilters technology and operating efficiencies,” said Paul Trost, president of MV. “MV has many similar but smaller systems already installed throughout the U.S. and we are starting to receive inquiries from other countries, including South America, for large systems to treat emissions from several different industries” said John Combs, president of SEER. “We are starting to see increasing interest and demand develop since we have begun cross marketing MV with our other SEER subsidiary, REGS, LLC. Further, the need for MV’s odor control systems is increasing domestically as U.S. refineries are receiving more crudes from regions other than the Middle East.” MV’s patent-pending OdorFilter system operates using a combined physical- chemical process and a biological process. The physical-chemical process converts the sulfide-containing gases (e.g. H2S) to a form of pyrite that is commonly found in nature. The biological process facilitates the physical-chemical process but, more important, allows biological destruction of certain gaseous organic compounds that are readily biodegradable. Thus the single unit serves a dual purpose and has many advantages over competitive products. Over the past three years MV has designed, constructed, and installed OdorFilters at numerous refineries, asphalt plants, waste water treatment plants, and even grease traps to eliminate the odors commonly associated with sulfide-containing fugitive, malodorous gases.
